What the D'ast? Maxam

Think of the X-Man Colossus as a cosmic character and you pretty much have what we know and can see of the entity know as Maxam.
Maxam first appeared in a vision to Gamora, then wielder of the Infinity Gem of Time (also a possession of the Gardener, Thanos and Nebula in its known history). In this vision, Maxam murdered Adam Warlock. The genuine article later appeared on the island of the Infinity Watch with no memory of his past.
This amnesiac could summon additional body mass, increasing his strength and durability to levels he has stated as being an even match for Drax the Destroyer (at his highest level) or Hercules. The ability even allowed him, through supreme effort, to break free of Sue Richards’ powerful force-field when she had imprisoned him thus. Maxam was also completely invulnerable to psionic attacks.
Eventually it was revealed that Maxam was from an alternate future Earth (93112) where the majority of humanity had been wiped out by the Universal Church of Truth, an organization ruled by the future evil self of Warlock, the Magus. Maxam was sent back in time to destroy Adam before he could become the Magus. Maxam and his friend Zhang were raised by a Badoon named Master Ecclaw. To aid in Maxam's mission, Ecclaw saw to it that Maxam's mind was heavily fortified to protect against telepaths who might uncover his true purpose for being in the past.
Maxam eventually regained his memories when he briefly wielded the Time Gem. (Him too?) As soon as this happened, Maxam ambushed Warlock. The extradimensional vampire Rune stole both the Time and Soul Gems from Maxam and Warlock respectively, and without the Gem Warlock fell before Maxam. Maxam killed Warlock and then returned to his own world.
After his departure, Moondragon revealed that she had placed in Maxam’s mind a program that had played out the exact scenario he desired, Warlock still lived, but with Moondragon injured, Gamora departed, Maxam gone and their island HQ devastated by a tidal wave, his Infinity Watch disbanded.
Maxam never returned from Earth-93112, even after some of his “friends” got back together in Guardians of the Galaxy. And if he ever surfaces, on whose side would he be? We will just have to wait and see (if ever).
