The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale and Game of Thrones Premiere Score Record Ratings

6481 Last night saw two big shows go head-to-head as AMC premiered the Season 3 finale for The Walking Dead, and HBO debuted the season 3 premiere for Game of Thrones.

Turns out it was a win for everybody as both shows scored record ratings.

The Walking Dead brought in an additional 3.4 million viewers for its Season 3 finale, compared to Season 2, with a grand total of 12.4 million viewers. The lead in for Talking Dead also gave that show higher ratings as well.

Meanwhile, HBO's Game of Thrones saw 4.4 million tuning in.

It was also announced that David Morrissey would be returning as The Governor to Season 4 of The Walking Dead as a regular.
