Venom Ongoing Announced

Earlier we saw the cover to Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 featuring Venom side by side Spider-Man, now has announced a new Venom ongoing come March 2011 from Rick Remender and Tony Moore. The article states the Venom symbiote bonds with a new host and becomes an operative of the U.S. Government. Who the new host is remains a secret, but the new host is said to be familiar to fans. This new ongoing is said to resemble the Bourne Identity and James Bond with Remender saying, "the enhanced, black ops agent Venom, is charged with chasing a trail across the globe to uncover the man behind a plot to sell the world’s dictators and terrorists weaponized [redacted]." As the host is a mystery, the article omits what exactly is weaponized that Venom is trying to stop. Artist Tony Moore is no stranger to drawing monsters as he as previously worked on The Walking Dead, Ghost Rider, The Punisher and Fear Agent. From the sound of things, this version of Venom does appear to be dark. Furthermore, Remender states, "Venom mixes the high-octane action stuff we do in Fear Agent with stunning monster work from our PUNISHER run. It’s a perfect middle and we’re both tremendously excited for people to see what we’ve cooked up."
