V: Jane Badler on Playing Diana
SciFiMafia has an interview with "V" actress Jane Badler who will be back in the second season playing Diana, mother to the commander of the V's. Badler states that she will be in all the episodes. When she first heard "V" was coming back, interest exploded on her facebook page. She contacted the shows various producers and was offered an audition. Initially, it was only going to be a four episode gig, but Badler states the show changed those plans as now she is included in every episode. She will not be reprising her role as the original Diana from the 80s version, this Diana is more of a "homage." Badler states she beat out a few well named actresses who were also up for the role. She almost sounds as if she took offense to the fact she had to audition in the first place. Badler tells us a bit about her character. Apparently, she is the former Queen and has been imprisoned by her daughter, Anna, in the bowels of the ship. Her "dungeon" is an extra-terrestial terrain and is filled with all sort of special effects. There is a bit of a power play going on between her and Anna. Badler also states her character can not leave the dungeon and teases those that accidently make their way there face dire consequences. The second season of "V" returns Tuesday January 4th at 10pm Eastern/9pm Central on ABC!
