It's learned that Universal Studios is moving forward with a new Battlestar Galactica movie that is described as a complete re-imagining.

Variety has it that the Battlestar Galactica movie will be written by Jack Paglen who recently wrote Transcendence.

It's reported that Glen Larson, the original Battlestar Galactica series creator, will be on board the project as a producer.

Battlestar Galactica was featured as a TV series on SyFy from Ron Moore in 2003, with the original series airing in 1978.

Back in 2009, Bryan Singer's name was attached to direct a Battlestar Galactica movie at one time.

No plot details, potential directors or cast announcements have been made as of yet.
