TV Review: Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. -- "The Venom Inside"
The Hulks are interrupted during a charity event (smashing a building down to build a Children's Hospital) by the Ultimate Spider-Man. What follows is a lot of Spidey comedy and chasing.
Seems Doc Ock has invented a new Venom, this time one that absorbs gamma radiation from the Hulks. After electricity fails to bring the big bug down, Rick Jones thinks of what they do in the movies: they freeze the sucker!
Freezing brings the Venom to a halt, but then it suddenly comes to life again, still having the gamma radiation strength of a whole set of Hulks it has absorbed and released. Chaos ensues.
While Spidey lures the Venom to the Lincoln Tunnel, the Hulk secures a large bell and then starts smashing on it. The sound waves free the captive Hulks and together, smashing/ringing the bell, they destroy the Venom on the subatomic level.
The shame is Doc Ock misses that because this also destroys a tentacled camera that has been following them around.
Doc Ock is captured, everything's put away clean, with the usual Rick Jones joke at the end.
This was a very entertaining episode of Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Good animation, good in-jokes, a lot of action. Just what you expect from this toon.
