TV Review: Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes - To Steal an Ant-Man (Season 2, Episode 5)

Body

1586 The only characters you did not see on this week’s episode of Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were the Avengers (unless you count a brief appearance by the Wasp).

No, “To Steal an Ant-Man” focused on two of the superhero ID’s most famous holders: the original, Dr. Henry Pym, and his follow-up, Scott Lang.

The adventure finds Hank, who is somewhat disheveled after the event of Ultron and his leaving the Avengers (and maybe Jan?) going to Heroes for Hire (Luke Cage and Danny Rand) after a faux Ant-Man (Lang) begins robbing banks and shrinking treasures here and there. As it turns out, Lang’s daughter, a very young Cassie, is being held by the villainous William Cross.

Luke and Danny have a time finding and then holding onto Lang (Ant-Man), but Pym intercedes with a new Pym Particle tracer. Cassie is rescued, Cross and his thugs brought in and -- Hank turns the Ant-Man gig over to Lang, still wanting to solve super-villainy in a more peaceful way.

The animation was cool and the script was electric this time around, with the emotional situations of Hank and Scott handled extremely well.

Usually when the title is Avengers, I want the Avengers. This is one of those rare times when I just sat back and enjoyed myself.
