TV Review: Avengers Assemble -- "Mojo World"

Action-packed and funny!

Those are the words that are the keys to Sunday's episode of Avengers Assemble on Disney XD.

In the true spirit of the villain, the Avengers battle Mojo on both Mojoworld and on our Earth. From beginning to end, it is a sight gag, fun-filled toon with loads of cameos for the cosmically-minded.

And it all starts with a pickle.

That's right, a pickle. The Hulk breaks into the Avengers lauder and eats all of Hawkeye's pickles. The bowman returns the favor by threstening one of the Hulk's glass menagerie, a rare crystal unicorn. When the unicorn goes smash accidentally, so does the Hulk.

Intergalactic TV producer Mojo notices and immediately books the Hulk to take on Torgo in his gladiator arena/TV studio. Hawkeye accidentally comes along for the teleportation ride.

After a lot of action and humor, we discover Torgo and others battling in the arena are not doing so of their own will but at threat of destruction of their homeworlds. (Looks like Mojo might be stepping into Galactus' territory a bit here.)

When ratings don't work out with the fight Mojo planned, the Hulk and Hawkeye are "cancelled" and the Earth is under attack suddenly.

Enter the remainder of the Avengers, but it is Hawkeye and the Hulk who do the real sweep-up.

Action, humor and an excellent toon.
