Top 10 Comic Book Sales For July 2013: Superman On Top

Body

10132

Diamond released their early comic book sales estimates for July revealing the top ten comics where we see Superman takes the top spot.

Scott Snyder and Jim Lee's Superman Unchained #2 takes the #1 position, followed by Batman #22. Grek Pak and Jae Lee's Batman/Superman #2 comes in at the sixth position as well.

We see that Angela and Neil Gaiman gave Guardians of the Galaxy a boost as it lands at #3 overall.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Guardians now that retailers and readers realize Gaiman isn't a co-writer as well as Angela ain't sticking around for very long. I'm guessing Marvel has some other gimmick up their sleeve to try to keep the book afloat.

Dan Slott's controversial Superior Spider-Man continues to be popular with the fans as well.

DC Comics also managed to take the top dollar amount for July while Marvel still retained number of units shipped.

DC Comics had 32.50% of the dollar share to Marvel's 32.34%.

Marvel had 36.47% of the unit share to DC's 34.07%.
