Thor Star Chris Hemsworth Cast In Spielberg's Robopocalypse


2352 The god of Thunder is causing quite a storm in the movie biz!

Having recently starred in Thor, The Avengers, Snow White And The Huntsman, Cabin in the Woods, the upcoming Red Dawn remake, Rush and Thor: The Dark World, Chris Hemsworth has now landed a role in Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse.

Deadline has it that the role is one of the most coveted in Hollywood and is expected to be Spielberg's next big movie when it debuts from Disney in April 25, 2014 — which Deadlines notes is the same international opening weekend date The Avengers movie had this year.

Robopocalypse is set in the near future that sees man versus machine, with mankind having created a technology that is smarter than us. The movie deals with themes about what happens when technology becomes smarter than we are, and when that technology targets mankind.

Hemsworth is currently due to film Thor: The Dark World next monthwhich hammers into theaters November 8th, 2013 directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones), starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimidall, Zachary Levi as Fandral and Jaimie Alexander as Sif.
