Thor 2 (2013): Rumored Death of Major Character

Thor 2, "The Dark World," is currently filming in Bourne Wood, England with a major battle scene taking place.

A plethora of images have come out of the Thor 2 set revealing Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, some sort of alien creature we are trying to guess the identity of, and lots more.

Now what may or may not be related to the battle - which is said to be between two races - is that there is a rumor of a major character getting killed.

The writers of Bleeding Cool are based out of the UK, where Thor 2 is presently filming, and one writer in particular was told that the character getting killed off could be Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins. However, they went on to "discuss" the rumor amongst themselves and now reach a different conclusion, that it probably is not Odin.

While we don't know any more than that, if not Odin — who?

Interestingly enough, Joss Whedon recently spoke about The Avengers 2 not having a happy ending.

The same for Thor 2?

Thor 2: The Dark World hammers into theaters November 8th, 2013 directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones), starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimidall, Zachary Levi as Fandral and Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed, Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Kurse.
