Terminator: Genesis Casts J.K. Simmons

Alan Taylor has cast J.K. Simmons in an undisclosed role for Terminator: Genesis.

All that is known about the role is that Simmons will play an alcoholic detective who has been following the Sarah Connors case since 1984.

Perhaps Simmons is playing a version of Detective Hal Vukovich from the original 1984 movie that was first played by Lance Henriksen.

J.K. Simmons joins Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connors, Jason Clarke as John Connors, Jai Courteny as Kyle Reese and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator.

J.K. Simmons is known for playing J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies.

Previous details about the storyline for Terminator: Genesis mentioned alternate timelines and revisiting the first two films.

"Terminator Genesis" has a July 1, 2015 release.
