Teenage Alien Mutant Ninja Turtles: "Could Be Whole Planet Of Them" Says Co-Creator

Body

A bomb in the form of Michael Bay was dropped on the internet earlier with news that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would have an alien origin.

Things started to get nasty when one voice-actor mentioned something about "sodomizing" (true!), with still another - perhaps looking for a job - stating it was a good idea.

Regardless, Bay himself took to his message boards and told the fans to chill out!

Now, TMNT Co-Creator Peter Laird, who sold the rights off to Nickelodeon in 2009, weighs in on the idea and attempts to look at the positive side of things.

Laird points out on his blog (where he sketched the below pic) the obvious as he states, "[T]he reason I say it could be a 'genius' idea is that -- for the first time -- someone has come up with a way to have as many freakin' Turtles as they want. I mean, if the TMNT are actually members of an alien race, there could be a whole PLANET of them!"

A whole planet of Turtles?!

Laird does state he tried adding a fifth turtle at one time, and when he did create more in the form of the "Super Turtles," he made sure they were different than the "Ninja" ones.

However, would Bay do the same?!

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is slated for a Christmas Day 2013 release.
