Superman Tom Welling wishes new Batman Ben Affleck all the best while attending the premiere of his latest movie, Parkland, at the Toronto Film Festival.

EOnline caught up with the Smallville actor, where Tom Welling offered, "It's great. He's a tremendous actor, he's a wonderful director and I wish him the best.

"It's hard to criticize things before they even happen," Welling said of the internet reaction to Ben Affleck being named the new Batman. "I know they'll endeavor to make the best film they can."

Tom Welling played Clark Kent on the popular CW TV series Smallville for ten seasons. The show also continues in digital comic form from DC Comics.

Tom Welling stars alongside Zac Efron in Parkland, the story about the chaotic events that occurred at Dallas' Parkland Hospital on the day U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

You can also check out a recent batch of images from the Parkland premiere revealing a rather sophisticated and dashing Tom Welling. Interestingly enough, fans are describing him as having the look of a Bruce Wayne.

My pick for Tom Welling? Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards for the Fantastic Four movie.
