Superman Man of Steel 2013: Zod Is A "badass mofo" Says Michael Shannon
"He's a general. On a planet called Krypton. I don't know what to say about Zod. It's shrouded in secrecy. [Long pause.] He's a badass mofo," Michael Shannon told Yahoo Movies.
As we previously mentioned, it can't be helped that the new super cast will be compared to their Richard Donner counter-parts, as Amy Adams recently spoke about Margot Kidder, and now Michael Shannon mentions Terrance Stamp, the classic portrayal of Zod from Superman: The Movie and Superman II, and the look of the General in Man of Steel.
"I will look slightly different than Terrence Stamp because otherwise, what's the point?" he said.
Michael Shannon continues, again mentioning what members of the cast have said before as well as director Zack Snyder, in that it is going to be a different take.
"It will all be slightly different. I think it's pretty cool," Shannon said.
Shannon goes on to mention how he has met up with soem of the super fans of the movie, who even have their idea what the final version of Zod will look like — but they are all wrong.
"I'm going to be doing so many interviews for the 'Man of Steel.' I'll save it for then. It is funny because people bring me pictures to sign at events and things, and there are all these mockups online and people imagining what I'm going to look like. There are some pretty funny ones, something with a black SS uniform and -- what do you call it when you got the mustache and there's this soul patch... [ a Zappa] Well, that's totally wrong but I'll sign it if you want me to."
Regarding what Shannon says about General Zod being a "badass mofo," it's recently come out that their might be one certain Kryptonian who is even badder.
