Superman: The Man of Steel (2013): Michael Shannon Talks The Dual Nature Of Zod

Michael Shannon, face of the new Zod in the new Superman reboot, the Man of Steel, once again discusses the dual nature of the role for the character.

Shannon offers up that Zod may -- or may not -- be the villain that everyone thinks him to be.

“He’s actually a not very scary guy,” Shannon told IFC at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. “He’s just trying to do his job, just like anybody.”

Shannon continues hinting that Zod might not be all that evil, as it depends on your perspective, when asked about how relatable the character will be to some.

“I don’t know, you know? I don’t want to say,” Shannon said. “Some people might hate him, some people might love him. But I’m fond of him. I respect him.”

It's rumored Zod will be attempting to rebuild Krypton on Earth in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Seeing how he his one of the last of his kind, can you fault him for trying?

I suppose it depends how he goes about "rebuilding!"
