Steven Moffat Confirms Return To Doctor Who Series 9

Body

Steven Moffat will be returning to at least one more year of Doctor Who.

Moffat confirmed the news to Doctor Who Magazine (via Digital Spy).

"Sitting here, right now, just before the [series eight] finale shooting block, I've figured out the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of the next series.

And it's a whopper. Ohh, I don't think you'll see this coming!"

Moffat replaced Russell T. Davies as Doctor Who's showrunner in 2009 to mixed fanfare.

Reportedly, Moffat deleted his Twitter account because fans were so "critical" of his run on Doctor Who.

Earlier today, it also became known that Series 8 of Doctor Who, starring Peter Capaldi, will premiere August 23rd.
