Star Wars Movies Are Only Canon Says Simon Kinberg (Video)

Simon Kinberg, executive producer on the new animated Star Wars Rebels series and said to be working on a spinoff movie, lets it be known regarding the new movies that only the previous six Star Wars films are canon.

Speaking with IGN at WonderCon, Kinberg says regarding using anything from the expanded Star Wars universe:

It's not off-limits, and it's certainly inspiring. I'm working on an animated show for them as well, Star Wars: Rebels, that will take inspiration from everywhere. I know for the movies, the canon is the canon, and the canon is the six films that exist.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" has a December 18, 2015 release.
