Star Trek Into Darkness Premiere Moved Up

The official premiere date for Star Trek Into Darkness has been moved up a day to Thursday, May 16th.

Deadline reports that Paramount announced the new release date as a result of IMAX advance screening sell-outs for Wednesday which includes LA, NY, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, Houston, San Diego and Minneapolis.

Star Trek Into Darkness also saw its release date bumped up in the UK to May 8th.

Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
