Star Trek 2 (2013): Won't Be Named Part 2; Batman Movies Cited

Body

Trekkies have been eagerly anticipating the actual title of J.J. Abrams "Star Trek 2" as the movie is as-of-yet unnamed.

But one thing is for sure it will not be called "2" or "Part 2," or even "Stark Trek: ---" (meaning use of colon).

Star Trek's Damon Lindelof attended the recent Comic-Con and co-hosted an event for MTV.

The writer spoke about naming the movie.

He said there is already a Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, so they wouldn't be using "Star Trek 2," and cites how Christopher Nolan titled his Batman films without numbers.

Lindelof even goes on to state they want to get away from using the colon as well, and jokes about the last part of his digestive system and notes the use of it by certain Trek movies that were not that well received.

So what could the title be?

They seem to like "Star Trek: Transformers 4" the best "because it's technically available."

Here's the video:

The as-of-yet unnamed Star Trek sequel has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
