Star Trek 2 (2013): Scott Bakula and Marina Sirtis Would Like To Appear
Scott Bakula recently gathered along side all the captains of Star Trek at a reunion that took place in London.
There, Bakula was asked if he would like to be in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek sequel, with Bakula, who played Captain Jonathan Archer of Star Trek: Enterprise, replying in the affirmative.
"Of course! I love the new film! Are you kidding? They just have to ask. They have my number. I fax it regularly over to his (J.J. Abrams') office. Is that wrong? Is that pandering? In uniform. Maybe that's too much," Bakula told ComingSoon.net (via Blastr).
Likewise, Star Trek: The Next Generation's Marina Sirtis, Counselor Troi, said she would like to appear as well.
"I love the new films. I thought the kids were fantastic! Not crazy about them blowing up Vulcan. I was like, hold on a minute. Wasn't Vulcan around when we were around? But I'm not going to argue with J.J. Would I like to be in the new films? Yes! That would be fabulous! I think that I should go over there as a counselor. They're young, they need guidance. I can see myself putting them on the right path," she said.
As J.J. Abrams' Star Trek is set in an alternative universe, the inclusion of either Scott Bakula or Marina Sirtis really wouldn't be much of a — quantum leap (sorry, had to go there).
The as-of-yet unnamed Star Trek sequel has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
