Megan Fox lets it be known that her version of April O'Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn't meant to be a "TnA" bimbo, but more a representation of the modern woman.

Speaking with EW, Fox says director Jonathan Liebesman didn't want to sexualize the character.

“I’m completely clothed for the entire movie,” said Fox. “There’s no gratuitous skin or sexual anything. Jonathan was really insistent on not wanting her to be sexualized or to take that sort of typical role we’ve seen women take in movies thus far, and that I’ve taken in particular."

Fox also mentions that April O'Neil will be more involved than her previous incarnations.

"She’s more of a leader when she explores her relationship with the turtles instead of just the human companion that gets dragged along on the adventure,” Fox said. “It’s more representative of a modern woman.”

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" has an August 8, 2014 release directed by Jonathan Liebesman, produced by Michael Bay starring Megan Fox as April O'Neil, William Fichtner as Shredder, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and Whoopi Goldberg as Bernadette Thompson.

Synopsis:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
