AMC continues to move forward with The Walking Dead spinoff series as it's learned Dave Erickson, writer on Sons of Anarchy, will co-write and executive produce the new series with The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.

Deadline reported the news as AMC made announcements about their upcoming new shows at their Upfront, which sees networks announce important news for advertisers.

Details are slim regarding the new spinoff series for The Walking Dead, with speculation ranging from the new series following a different group of characters in another part of the United States or even another country, to possibly a prequel.

Kirkman has made it be known that The Walking Dead spinoff will not be a part of the AMC series, but independent of the show, which looks to mean all-new characters and storylines.

According to reports, the new The Walking Dead spinoff is slated for a 2015 debut on AMC, so more details should be coming forward soon.
