Ryan Reynolds Doesn't Rule Out Justice League Movie: Has To Be Done Right
Ryan Reynolds portrayed Green Lantern in the 2011 movie which wasn't a bomb at the box office, but didn't exactly explode on to the scene as well.
Depending on who you ask, some blame the script for the poor performance while others weren't big fans of Reynolds' Hal Jordan and the Lantern of sector 2814. And there are some who would rather have the reboot featuring Green Lantern John Stewart.
Now in a podcast with Empire Magazine, Reynolds discusses the Justice League movie and while the actor doesn't exactly rule it out, he says he has very little interest unless it's done right with specific mention of directors who did get it right with Joss Whedon and Christopher Nolan (It makes you wonder if he has seen Man of Steel. Maybe he has?).
"I don't know," Reynolds responded when asked if he wanted to be involved in a Justice League movie. "If you are going to do comic book movies in that vein you really have to get them right. I believe that Joss Whedon is a guy that just nails it. Christopher Nolan obviously nails it. Yeah, if they were going to do it like that it would be interesting to do."
Reynolds continues with mention about why Green Lantern didn't work.
"Working on Green Lantern, I saw how difficult it is to kind of make that concept palatable and how kind of confused it all can be when you don't really know exactly where you are going with it or you don't really know how exactly to access that," he offered. "You know, that world that comic book fans have been accessing for decades and fallen in love with. At this point I have very little interest in joining that, but as always a great director and a great script could turn that around."
