Rob Liefeld's Epic "Godyssey" Getting Film Adaptation

Body

5069 Image Comics co-founder and fan-favorite artist Rob Liefeld will see another of his comic properties brought to the big screen with the film adaptation of Godyssey.

Liefeld, known for such popular characters as Deadpool and Cable, created the "gods vs God" comic book back in 1996.

While it featured a Zeus vs. God/Jesus storyline, this one appears to focus more on the pagan deities as Variety reports the "story centers on the gods of the grand pantheon, including Zeus, Buddha, Ra and Pangu, who must come together to fight a legion of fallen gods in an epic battle over mankind."

Liefeld let it be known through his Twitter account that Jesus wouldn't be used as well as the popular characters Avengelyne or Glory, of which the '96 story apparently centered on.

Speaking of Twitter, it turns out that is where Sony-based Todd Garner first heard about the pitch as Liefeld tweeted about it to his manager.

Currently, the Godyssey movie is in outline form with Liefeld on as producer.
