Van Jensen and Robert Venditti continue to build the character of John Stewart in this strong and beautiful story about another change in the status quo of the Green Lanterns.

In the first true post-“Lights Out” issue, Green Lantern Corps #26 weaves a web of mistrust, concern, heroism and friendship as John and Hal slug it out! John actually gets to use his talents as an architect (always a plus) and the scenes with Mogo are just astonishing. Really!

The voyage to Jruk’s world shows how the seeds of mistrust toward the GLC have been sewn in the wake of the Guardians’ departure. I really dig seeing these diverse alien DCU worlds and recalling what a rich cosmos it is out there (even in the New 52).

The art as usual on Lantern books is superb and the colors magnificent, so kudos to Bernard Chang and Marcelo Maiolo. Great action, wonderful humor … the art carries and enhances the script.

Green Lantern Corps has been shaping up to be a great read every month. (Loved that Zero Year tie-in last month as well!) And John Stewart is getting the attention he so richly deserves. Fun!
