'The Punisher' TV Series Coming To Fox

Body

picMarvel and Fox have entered into an agreement for a The Punisher TV Series, known as a "put pilot," meaning Fox has to air the pilot or penalties may ensue, usually in monetary form.

Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds) will be the The Punisher's showrunner, with the new series being described as "an hour-long procedural with a Marvel signature and a new take on one of the comic book giant’s iconic characters, Frank Castle, a rising star detective with the New York Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher, seeking justice for those the system has failed."

In addition to Bernero on as executive producer, Marvel will executive produce, as well.

Currenty, ABC has other Marvel character based shows in development including Hulk and AKA Jessica Jones.

Not too long ago, Fox announced a new DC Comics based Specter TV series.

Just from reading the quick description about The Punisher, does it seem like Frank Castle's family will not get killed off, which is the reason Frank dons the guise of The Punisher (I believe)? And will a "Punisher on Fox" even work? Guess we'll find out, eventually.
