Peyton Reed Directing Ant-Man With Adam McKay On Script; Synopsis Released
The search is finally over as Marvel Studios announced that Peyton Reed will be directing the Ant-Man movie, with Adam McKay also stated to be contributing to the script.
Edgar Wright recently departed Ant-Man over creative differences with Marvel.
Peyton Reed directed the 2008 Yes Man movie that starred Jim Carrey as well as episodes of The Goodwin Games and has The Fifth Beatle and Ellen More Or Less currently in pre-production.
Adam McKay is known for writing Saturday Night Live and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Marvel also revealed the following Ant-Man synopsis:
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
"Ant-Man" has a July 17, 2015 release.
