Peter Mayhew Cancels Comic Con Appearance For Star Wars: Episode VII

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that Peter Mayhew will be returning as Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episode VII.

News first surfaced following Peter Mayhew cancelling plans to attend the Texas convention Comicpalooza in late May.

Now it's become known that Mayhew has cancelled another appearance, this time for the Niagara Falls Comic Con, which takes place June 6-8.

The Niagara Falls Comic Con people released an update with the news on their Facebook:

Due to a Star Wars filming scheduling conflict, unfortunately, Peter Mayhew will not make it down to Niagara Falls Comic Con this year. We're sorry folks, but Disney has cast all Star Wars alumni in the new film. Don't forget all of the other amazing guests including William Shatner, Giancarlo Esposito, Marina Sirtis, Dean Cain, Chandler Riggs, Ernie Hudson, Sylvester McCoy, Kevin Sorbo, Ric Flair, Jason Priestley, the Comic Book Men, Neal Adams, Kevin Eastman, and more!

Disney Chairman Alan Horn recently let it be known that Star Wars: Episode VII has begun filming. The first set pics from the Abu Dhabi desert have hit the net as well.

Disney has yet to announce official casting for the movie.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" has a December 18, 2015 release.
