Oscorp Was Going To Be In The Avengers Movie

Body

1976 We get some more Spider-Man related news appearing in The Avengers movie with mention that Oscorp was supposed to make a cameo appearance.

Apparently the office building of Norman Osborn's company was supposed to be a part of The Avengers' skyline, but never made it into the movie.

According to LatinoReview, the rumor is that Amazing Spider-Man production designer J Michael Riva's design of the Oscorp building was so stunning that there was talk by Sony and Marvel Studios to include it in The Avengers movie. However, LR states that The Avengers' Manhattan skyline was just about completed so they passed on the idea.

In related news, Amazing Spider-Man movie producer Avi Arad stated that an Avengers/Spider-Man crossover is not out of the question.

Cosmic Book News was the first to put forth that a Spider-Man/Avengers appearance was a strong possibility as Disney and Sony came to a mutually beneficial deal over the rights to Spider-Man.

Maybe we'll see Spidey in The Avengers sequel or even an appearance by an Assembler or related - S.H.I.E.L.D. - character in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
