Oprah Winfrey Rumored For Suicide Squad Movie
It's being reported that Oprah Winfrey is wanted for the Suicide Squad movie.
Variety, in their report about the recent casting, states Winfrey is David Ayer's top choice to play Amanda Waller.
Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer are also named as candidates for the role.
Amanda Waller, in the comics, is in charge of the Suicide Squad. She first appeared in John Ostrander's Legends #1 in 1986 and then on to the Suicide Squad ongoing, which recently DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns, hinted was the basis for the plot of the movie.
The Suicide Squad movie has an August 5, 2016 release and will begin filming this Spring in Toronto.
Jared Leto is The Joker; Will Smith is Deadshot, Tom Hardy is Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn; Jai Courtey is playing Boomerang; Cara Delevingne is Enchantress, and Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to follow his Batman vs. Superman debut as Lex Luthor.
The character of Amanda Waller is being played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson in the Arrow TV series, which is separate from the DC movie universe.
