NYCC 2011: Joe Quesada Talks Captain Marvel and Nova

Body

Check out what Joe Quesada had to say on Captain Marvel and Nova at Saturday's My Cup Panel at the New York Comic Con.

"Whenever you resurrect a character, bring back a character, you hope and pray - especially with a name like Marvel - you hope and pray it's the right way to do it because every time you do it and it doesn't work you are going to have to wait another 2 or 3 years to try to do it again, and each time you do it, it becomes consistently harder.

Captain Marvel is among the list of several characters at Marvel that we look at and say 'boy if we could just figure out the right hook.' I think what we discovered through trial and error, the best way to do it is to not force the issue.

You heard Nova's name dropped here a while ago, Nova is like one of my favorite characters, and Nova is exactly one of those characters like Captain Marvel that we've looked at said 'boy if there is only a way.' I think we got a way.

So...in time.

It's very hard to force the issue, you are almost destined not to work."
