Now Stephen Wacker Begs Retailers To Support Guardians of the Galaxy; Issue #1 Has 17 Variants

We've previously seen editor Stephen Wacker attempting to calm the Richard Rider Nova fans by including a write-up in Nova #2.

Now, Wacker has sent retailers a letter begging them to support the new Guardians of the Galaxy, even comparing it to - lol - Giant Size X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man and Civil War (what? no Annihilation?).

They really must be nervous about this.

Oh, and the 17 variant covers for the first issue are revealed.

17.

Maybe Wacker should have rethought his behavior on various message boards as he constantly insulted fans and even told them not to by it.

One last question, Stephen: We know Steve McNiven is getting replaced as of issue #4. Is he ever coming back?

Here is what Wacker sent (via Bleeding Cool).
