Now New Batman Reboot Is Rumored For 2019
The rumor mills have been running overtime ever since it came out that the Justice League movie is waiting on the Man of Steel.
We've heard that Will Beall's script was scrapped, that the movie is done for, but at the same time maybe not and moving forward.
Our own DC Entertainment source told us that the Justice League movie script wasn't totally scrapped, that WB might be bringing other writers onboard to help out, and that the next couple week's should be exciting.
Well, the excitement continues as we get another rumor with mention that the new Batman movie might not reboot until 2019 -- and as a solo film.
So, what happens if Warners doesn't go forward with Justice League?
Batman-On-Film has it that a source thinks it would get delayed until 2019, while the Superman franchise prospers. Initially they came out and said 2017, but now they are saying even later.
Their source tells them the following:
I believe that they are now looking at introducing [the rebooted] Batman in a solo film, though that will likely take place later than they initially had planned. They are extreemly worried how a [the Batman film franchise] would be affect if JUSTCE LEAGUE bombs...and rightfully so.
They also go on to mention something about the "core fanbase of the Justice League movie" not being onboard which has WB worried.
Not sure what they exactly mean by that, but it's probably referencing the fanboy websites and maybe some message board users - and why WB would care? - but from my indications fans are dying for a Justice League movie.
Regarding the Batman reboot, last we were told Darren Aronofsky was being eyed to take over the franchise and that it might even be based on the insanely popular Arkham video game franchise.
