Now Disney Withholds New Star Wars Footage From Comic-Con

Not only is Disney holding back Marvel Studios from appearing at Comic-Con, but now it's learned there will be no new Star Wars footage.

Regarding Marvel Studios, while Kevin Feige tried to explain Marvel didn't have anything to show off ("the timing wasn't right"), Marvel could have easily done something for Ant-Man, which opens next week, as well as could have featured new Spider-Man Tom Holland and probably could have done something for Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange if they really wanted to.

At least Disney will have a Star Wars panel, but reports no new trailers, clips or footage will be shown.

What is stated to be coming at Comic-Con from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a behind-the-scenes look at the film in addition to J.J. Abrams, Disney LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy and some members of the cast apeparing from the movie.

It's assumed Disney is saving future Marvel Studios news for August's Disney D23 Expo, and now it's likely new Star Wars footage may debut then.

EW's report does note a new Star Wars trailer is due out in the Fall.

The Star Wars Comic-Con panel takes place this Friday.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has a December 18, 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
