New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Aliens Says Michael Bay (Video)

Body

956 The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that is slated for a Christmas Day 2013 release will see the turtles-in-a-half-shell having an alien origin.

Producer Michael Bay let loose a few details (via StuffWeLike) at the recent Nickelodeon Upfront in NYC.

"When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable."

No word as of yet if the title will be changed to "Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles" or if the "mutant" aspect will be dropped completely.

Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the TitansBattle Los Angeles) is on as director, with a script from Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" opens December 25th, 2013.
