Michael Shannon Compares Superman: Man of Steel To Nolan's Batman Films and Scorsese
With Michael Shannon and the cast and crew of the new Superman movie finishing up with filming on the Man of Steel, the actor briefly spoke about his experience being cast as the villainous Zod, with the Playlist.
The actor had only good things to say about both Henry Cavill and director Zack Snyder, and apparently had a "blast" while doing it.
"Henry is a fantastic Superman, he’s got a little edge to him and he’s smart, clever and I had fun working with him," Shannon tells the Playlist.
Regarding Snyder, Shannon gives him a huge compliment in the form of another famous director.
"I think Zack is the master stylist, visually, I mean he’s up there with Scorsese in my book in terms of visual composition, orchestration, etc." Shannon said.
What sort of Man of Steel can fans expect? While Snyder has stated that his version is going to take off in a different direction than the Donner movies of the past, Shannon offers something similar, and compares it to Producer Christopher Nolan's take with the Batman films.
"[The] whole thing is edgy in a way like when Nolan took over the Batman franchise."
