Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles (2014) Gets Its Splinter With Danny Woodburn
We get one more cast addition to the Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles reboot with Danny Woodburn who will play Master Splinter.
In one version of the Turtles, Splinter was the pet of Hamto Yoshi where he mimicked his Master's martial arts moves and escaped to the sewers where he encountered the ooze and was mutated into more of a human form.
In still another version, Hamto Yoshi and Master Splinter are one in the same.
It's unknown which version Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman will be using in Ninja Turtles as plot details are scarce.
Danny Woodburn joins Megan Fox who will play the film's female lead as April O'Neil, with Alan Ritchson, PetePloszek, Jeremy Howard and Noel Fisher playing the turtles in what is being described as more akin to Avatar through use of CGI.
Will Arnett was said to be previously cast in Ninja Turtles as well, in an unidentified role, with it thought either Splinter or Shredder; with the news of Woodburn, the latter looks like a stronger possibility as Arnett could be the voice of Shredder. Arnett will also be voicing Batman in the LEGO movie.
Ninja Turtles has a June 6, 2014 release.
