Last night's ultra-hyped up episode of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. that was advertised to explain the reasoning behind Agent Coulson's resurrection following his death in The Avengers movie - similar to the explanation - comes up short in the ratings department.

The episode, which was the premiere of the second half of the season, actually matched its lowest ratings of the season with a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 rating.

Overall, "The Magical Place" scored 6.48 million viewers which is down almost half from its record-breaking series debut.

The numbers for last night's episode can't be looked at anything but good as we see with the big promotion surrounding Coulson's death there was no bump in ratings. There is also the added fact that Coulson's resurrection wasn't explained in the episode, which disappointed a large majority of the online community.

A majority of fans are waiting for Disney to put the "Marvel" into Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Most recently, Clark Gregg stated he would like Ant-Man Paul Rudd to appear on the series.
