Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Comes Up Short. Again.
Spoilers follow for tonight's Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Tonight saw the return of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. with "The Magical Place," but the only thing magical about it is how the series got green lit in the first place.
The episode - once again - portrayed every SHIELD agent to be a complete idiot, even more so than the regular cast.
Agent Fitz and Simmons were seen correcting various SHIELD agents that were on board to help out with Centipede and Coulson's kidnapping. We got a ridiculous scene with Skye pretending to be Melinda May, and the explanation behind Coulson's death and subsequent resurrection fell completely short.
Regarding Coulson, all that was learned was he under went a series of operations under the orders of Agent Fury. Coulson was shown getting a brain operation which was to change his memories to give him back his will to live. So this is what we have been waiting for since the start of the series? Or for that matter, since The Avengers movie? Of course, the mystery still looks to be unfolding, but if anyone thought answers were to be given in tonight's episode they are sadly mistaken.
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is devoid of quality writing and a direction meant to captivate the audience.
Let's hope Marvel does better with their Netflix series.
