12 6 issue oversized mini with a revolving creative team, dubbed "Versus," will feature one-on-one confrontation battles between an Avenger and an X-Men, which will play out from the main Avengers Vs. X-Men title.
Marvel announced the contenders fans will see duke it out in the first
two issue: Issue #1 will see the Master of Magneticism, Magneto, going up against the Invincible Iron Man. The second story features the Ever Lovin' Blue Eyed Thing taking on the first mutant, Namor!
Marvel EIC Axel Alonso even brought up the popularity of the "Rumbles Board" that is featured on many online forums.
"We're already seeing people on the message boards aligning themselves with either the X-Men or the Avengers and pondering the big question of 'Who would win in a fight?'" said Alonso. "We want to give that some space here. We want to give some eye candy by rotating our A-list teams. We're bringing out our big guns. If you were ever going to publish a book that was oversized, it would be this one."
