The number of villains in Amazing Spider-Man 2 seems to increase with every new report.

There is the Rhino, Harry Osborn, Electro, Alistair Smythe, Norman Osborn and any other small time bad guys or villain Easter Eggs director Marc Webb wants to include.

For fans, this may bring back memories of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 (or even Batman & Robin).

Marc Webb is well aware of the comparisons, and at the recent South by Southwest keynote on Saturday at the Austin Convention Center a fan brought up that very fact.

Webb's response (via THR):

"We're obviously familiar with the complaints people had. We're very careful to make sure the stories intertwine. For Peter Parker, it's very important that you create obstacles that are difficult to overcome."

Webb also added that Paul Giamatti's character - The Rhino - is only "in the movie for four minutes."
