Man of Steel #2 Movie Of The Year; Closing In On $700 Million

As of right now, Man of Steel is the #2 grossing movie domestically, currently trailing behind Iron Man 3, for the year.

The new Superman movie has raked in over $280 million in the United States to date.

Man of Steel is also closing in on the $700 million mark, with recent international openings, including Brazil, giving it another $338 million.

So far Man of Steel has a total worldwide gross of $619 million, and has yet to open in Japan.

The news can't be looked at as anything but good as we head into this week's Comic-Con where fans are expecting announcements about what's to come.

It's currently thought that either Man of Steel 2, Justice League or both will be announced, with it quite possible that the Batman reboot and movies for Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and the Green Lantern reboot as well.

Man of Steel is currently in theaters directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill as Superman.
