Man of Steel 2, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman Movies Rumored For Comic-Con
We are a little more than a month away from this Summer's San Diego Comic-Con, but we may have just learned the comic book movies that Warner Bros. may announce at the event.
According to Nikki Finke (formerly of Deadline), Warner Bros. is going to announce the following:
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
It's noted that a lot of the above remains in flux, and that planned Suicide Squad and Metal Men movies have been scrapped.
Like Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge.
Comic-Con runs July 23-27th.
Update: A source close to WB stated some (one?) of the above may actually be TV movies.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. "Justice League" follows directed by Zack Snyder as well.
