Looks Like No Green Lantern John Stewart For Dwayne Johnson
With Dwayne Johnson stating a while back that he is in talks for a DC movie, one character being speculated by the fans is Green Lantern John Stewart.
Johnson even teased the character a couple times on social media.
Now during a Twitter talk for his new Hercules movies, Dwayne Johnson seems to put the kibosh to any notion of portraying John Stewart.

From Johnson's comments, it looks as if he is referencing the Green Lantern movie, which has already been made, and it also sounds like another isn't coming anytime soon.
Update: Dwayne Johnson told Cinema Blend the following at CinemaCon yesterday about a character he wants to play:
He had to be extremely complex and have a lot going on. What that does for me as an actor and for the studio is it just gives us space that we can explore.
What that does, again as an actor, is that it gives me a little bit of space…it gives me a chance to put an imprint into his personality with the set of tools that I can bring to the table and put a very unique twist on his personality – but still pay homage to who he is.
He had to be a badass motherfucker. And on Superman level of power where he can throw down. In those three qualities I’m happy we found that character and right now we’re out to a lot of writers.
Update #2 from IGN:
Can't say that, but here we go. Here are three qualities. The first quality we were looking for was that he had to be extremely complex and have a lot going on. What that does for me as an actor and the studio is it gives us space that we can explore; his complexities. The other quality was that he had to -- the character we were looking for had to be well-known but never brought to life. Then what that does again as an actor, it gives me a little bit of space, and we talked about personality. It just gives me a chance to put an imprint into his personality, with the set of tools that I could bring to the table and put a very unique twist on his personality, but still pay homage to who he is. The third thing -- and most important -- is he had to be a badass motherfucker, okay, and on a Superman level of power, where could throw down. In those three qualities, I'm happy we've found that character. Right now, we're out to a lot of writers.
Johnson also says an announcement could be coming at Comic-Con:
Yeah, I think time, man! We need to find a writer. When is that, June? July? Yeah, possibly. So how about that? He had to be well-known --
His own movie or featured in another character's franchise?
Possibly, but we haven't discussed that -- not you and I, but in terms of me and DC. [Laughs] But possibly, sure. You never know.
"Hercules" hits August 14th.
