Former Marvel Comics writer turned Image Comics superstar with The Walking Dead held a featured panel today at the Image Expo where he happened to slam Marvel and also mentioned Scott Lang is in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man.

Answering a fan's question if Marvel Studios will use his Ant-Man for the movie - Eric O'Grady the third incarnation - Kirkman responded that he didn't think so and heard Scott Lang will be Ant-Man in the movie.

Regarding Marvel Comics, Kirkman didn't bite his tongue and slammed upper management.

A fan asked Kirkman if there was any bad blood between him and Marvel. Kirkman responded he doesn't have any bad blood toward Marvel aside "from the fact that I think they are a poorly run company that is partially destroying the comic book industry."

Kirkman goes on to remark that there are a lot of good people at Marvel and they have good comics, but Marvel's upper management is "extremely short-sighted," which negatively effects the industry and fans.

Kirkman said he counts himself as a Marvel fan and won't be around for a hundred years.

He finished saying he loves Marvel, that's why he's so critical of them.
