Kevin Feige & Marvel Studios Not Backing Down From Batman Vs. Superman

The delay in production and the release date change for Batman Vs. Superman has set up an epic battle on par with the comic book battles the movies are known to be inspired by as Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. have set themselves up against Marvel Studios on May 6, 2016.

Marvel Studios and Disney announced a release date for an untitled movie on May 6, 2016 about six months prior to Warner Bros. moving Batman Vs. Superman's release.

Marvel normally uses their May release date for one of their big movies such as an Iron Man film or an Avengers movie, but that might not be the case come May of 2016.

It's possible Marvel might use that date for Captain America 3, Thor 3 or Doctor Strange all of which would most likely not come out on top against Batman Vs. Superman, especially if the rumors are true and the Justice League are set to debut as well.

So will Marvel be moving away from the May 6, 2016 premiere date?

Nope.

Kevin Feige tells SlashFilm they aren't going to budge.

We’re certainly keeping the date there and we’ll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months.

Feige also let it be known that an announcement should be forthcoming.

That would be great, I’d love nothing more than to be able to announce them all there [at Comic-Con]. But if it’s ready beforehand, we’ll probably do it beforehand. If it’s not ready then, we’ll do it after.

Is it possible Marvel could be going with an Iron Man 4 for that May release? Or even a new standalone Hulk movie?

Update: A new report is stating Warner Bros. is moving the Batman Vs. Superman release date.

Update #2: Captain America 3 said to have May 2016 release date.
