Justin Bieber as Robin In Batman Vs. Superman Confirmed Hoax For Funny Or Die

What remained of the internet after the news of Ben Affleck being named the new Batman caused it to explode, blew up once again this weekend as the popular Canadian pop singer, Justin Bieber, released an image of himself with an apparent Batman Vs. Superman script teasing, "Robin??"

Social media networks, blogs, Hollywood trades and mainstream newspapers all picked up on the story with fans and celebrities voicing their thoughts. The Justin Bieber fans immediately got behind their favorite singer with tweets supporting the potential Boy Wonder. Likewise, the hard corps fanboys took to the blogosphere, Twitter and Facebook to offer up some no-so-nice thoughts and opinions.

Friend of new Batman Ben Affleck, Kevin Smith, even offered he thought it was a prank, and that Justin Bieber as Robin is a Friday the 13th nightmare.

No official comment came from Warner Bros. regarding the truth of Justin Bieber auditioning for the Batman vs. Superman movie or to the validity of the script.

A clue may have come in a previous tweet from Justin Bieber that revealed the singer participated in a skit for the celebrity parody website Funny or Die, leaving many online to speculate Justin Bieber as Robin was just a joke to promote that.

Now we hear from a Man of Steel movie fan site on Facebook that states they have confirmed Justin Bieber as Robin is a hoax for Funny or Die.

...confirmed privately this is a joke by Bieber for Funny or Die. Don't look for a formal announcement on it, especially from the studio, Funny or Die or Bieber. They never comment on rumors for the movie and the others are most likely enjoying how viral this went. You are welcome to believe or not believe it, it's completely ok. But, Bieber has nothing to do with this movie.

Some fans online hope the rumor to hold some truth as the fake script released by Justin Bieber states it is based on Frank Miller and Klaus Janson's comic book storyline "Batman: The Dark Knight Falls," that has Robin as a girl.

The sequel to "Man of Steel" goes into production next year for a July 17, 2015 release also starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
