Joss Whedon Would Explore Different Part Of Star Wars Universe; Wouldn't Bring Back Originals
While we officially wait for Disney to announced that the original members of Star Wars will be returning to Episode VII directed by J.J. Abrams, The Avengers director, Joss Whedon, offers his own thoughts on the new movie.
We've heard rumors that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher will be returning to Star Wars, and we even heard from George Lucas that they were all but signed previous to the Disney deal.
Now Joss Whedon states how he would do Star Wars and perhaps offers up some interest in taking it on at some point down the line.
"You know, I wouldn't go back, I'd go forward. I would want to create characters that would resonate the way that they did," Whedon told Digital Spy. "I mean, not that I don't want to see them, I would be excited to, but I also feel like I would want to explore a very different part of the universe."
Joss Whedon is currently involved with Marvel Studios in developing the S.H.I.E.L.D. ABC TV series as well as The Avengers 2 and consulting on the other films.
Perhaps Joss Whedon could take on a Star Wars film after The Avengers 2?
The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014 and Ant-Man on November 6, 2015..
