Joss Whedon Explains How Iron Man Will Be Brought Into The Avengers 2; More On Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver
Spoilers follow for Iron Man 3.
As we saw the end of Iron Man 3, Tony Stark blew up his various armors leaving the obvious question how he would be included in The Avengers 2.
Joss Whedon previously questioned what he was going to do after seeing an advanced screening, but now we learn a basic idea of how he will bring Tony Stark into the fold.
Whedon expains to IGN that we saw Tony Stark blow up his remote armors at the end of Iron Man 3, but most likely he still has an armor around somewhere.
Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he said, ‘I’ve changed' -- he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, ‘Yes!’
Whedon also talks about the two new characters set to appear in The Avengers 2 with the mutants Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. What Whedon likes about them is that they are different than the usual Assembler.
You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.
The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014 and Ant-Man on November 6, 2015..
